Avionics System Upgrades

Our expertise and qualifications are applicable to all major avionics systems including:

Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM)
Applicable to all Sabreliner models with AP 105 or APS 80 autopilots
In order to comply with this FAA mandate, an aircraft must be outfitted with the needed avionics systems and obtain compliance approval.

We are your complete RVSM source for:

• STCs for the Sabreliner 65, 40, 60, and 80 model aircraft equipped with APS 80 and AP 105 autopilot systems
• Repair and recertification of installed RVSM equipment
• Complete RVSM kits - ship sets of sensors and ship sets of displays which are the primary components of the installation. Everything else can be provided or purchased by Sabreliner or the customer. (Kits only available for Model 80s and Model 60s with AP105 autopilots)
• Support for FAA Compliance Approval - After your RVSM work is completed, Sabreliner will provide STC approval documentation for you to use in obtaining FAA RVSM Compliance Approval. In order to expedite that approval process, we can help you secure the services of an experienced company to complete your compliance procedure.

That process involves multiple steps, including completion of your RVSM manual, proof of crew training, procedures for ensuring continued airworthiness, and more.  You also will need to perform a GMU test flight and then submit a final report to the FAA in order to receive the Letter of Authorization (LOA) to fly in RVSM airspace.  The company that we recommend can take care of the LOA and get the approval turned around in about a week.  Some operators who have attempted to gain approval on their own have had to wait several months to get final FAA sign-off.

 

Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS)
Applicable to all Sabreliner models
While TCAS is not required, it is a valuable tool to have in your cockpit, and we offer:

• STCs for Honeywell (Bendix-King) TCAS I & TCAS II as well as Collins TCAS II Systems.
• Field approvals for L-3 Skywatch TCAS I & TAS system and Bendix-King TCAS I & TAS system, plus Ryan TCAD Systems

Terrain Awareness Warning System (TAWS)/Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS)Applicable to all Sabreliner models
In 2005, the FAA mandated that all turbine-powered aircraft with six or more seats be equipped with a certified terrain avoidance system. 

Sabreliner offers:

• STC for the Universal TAWS & MFD-640 Class A System and the Honeywell MKVIII EGPWS system
• Field approvals for KGP-560, KGP-860, MKVII EGPWS, and IHAS 8000 systems

 

Flight Management System (FMS)/Global Positioning System (GPS) Applicable to all Sabreliner models

Sabreliner offers: 

• STCs for Dual Universal UNS-1K, Dual UNS-1L, and single/dual Honeywell GNS-XLS systems
• Other models may be installed on field approval basis

 

Multi-Function Display (MFD)
Applicable to all Sabreliner models that have the correct systems/equipment installed (varies depending upon MFD manufacturer)
A Multi-Function Display (MFD) consists of a small screen (CRT or LCD) surrounded by multiple buttons and is used to display pertinent flight information to the pilot(s).  

Sabreliner offers:

• STC and field approvals for all Sabreliner aircraft
• Avidyne Flightmax 850 and EX 500, Universal MFD-640, Honeywell KMD-850

 

Scott Eros System
Applicable to all Sabreliner models that can accommodate the space required to install this system on the instrument panel
Scott Aviation designed and patented a quick donning oxygen mask and harness system (which includes a face seal, a soft flexible lens and a pneumatically-actuated harness) for use in providing breathing oxygen and protection from pollutants for the eyes and respiratory system.  The system also includes a regulator with microphone to control the flow of oxygen and to facilitate communications within the aircraft cockpit and other aircraft compartments.

• STC for Scott Eros quick donning mask and regulator systems for all aircraft

 

Satellite Weather System
Applicable to all Sabreliner models

Sabreliner offers:

• XM/WSI satellite broadcast system provides a continuous stream of weather to your portable or panel mounted display

 

Satellite Phone Systems
Applicable to all Sabreliner models

• Field approval for all types of satellite based phone systems
