Sabreliner VIP Interiors Become Popular Black Hawk Upgrade
February 12, 2009
Sabreliner Corporation's tactical VIP kits, including custom-designed seat cushions with memory foam and skirts, floor covers and stainless steel thresholds are becoming popular upgrades for the UH-60 Black Hawk.
The company has installed more than 200 of the seat cushions in Black Hawks from around the nation since it received its blanket air-worthiness release a year ago. Depending upon the configuration, each helicopter has 11 to 13 seats in the passenger area.
Unit logos may be engraved in the thresholds and embroidered on the seat cushion headrests, and Tracy L. Ogle, director, helicopter programs for Sabreliner, said the upgrades are in demand by a wide range of Black Hawk operators from both active Army and National Guard units.
"The tactical kits allow a Black Hawk operator to provide VIP seating to its troops at an economical price," Ogle said.
